FAQs and Policies

As much as I hate to do it, I need to institute a few policies and helpful procedures to keep everything running smoothly. Some are already mentioned on my services page, but I’m moving them here to keep them all in one place.

Deposits:
I collect a deposit for all projects over $100. My minimum deposit is $75 and is generally approximately 1/3 of the project’s cost. In the event that we are unable to come to a happy agreement on the completion of your project, your deposit is non-refundable and covers the time spent working on concepts. If you pay a deposit for more than one project, your entire deposit for projects we have not started will be returned. I always work on one project at a time.

Blog Customization:
I work exclusively with ProPhoto 4.  I am currently not taking clients for fully custom blogsites, but I’m available to help with template customizations. For most brands, starting with a template is a great way to get a unique site without the expense and wait of a full customization.

Cost depends on what needs to be done. We work together to create a quote based on your needs. Prices start at $75 for something like a color change and can go up to $500 for a complex customization in which I handle everything, including creating pages and setting up menus, galleries, etc. The basic breakdown is $50 per hour with a 3 hour minimum (unless it’s a single service for $75).

How to get something you love:
My best work is done when the client comes to me with a very clear idea of their desires. If you have very specific likes and dislikes, please share them with me so that I can get a feel for your style. Please take time to gather links for sites/designs/anything that you LOVE and share those with me before we begin your project. The more direction I get, the better your chances are of being pleased with the final outcome. This is a team effort. 🙂

Turnaround:
Turnaround time for your project will be heavily influenced by a few factors. First, the more we are able to stay in contact, the quicker your project will be completed. If you are not “married” to your computer like I am, expect your process to be just a bit longer than usual. 😉 Second, your project will tend to go much faster if you are very specific in your direction. If you send me very firm ideas and lots of good direction, chances are we can get it right in record time. All content will need to be delivered before we begin the design process.
